Bjp lost in its own lab of communal and hate politics in Kairana: Sitaram Yechury

New Delhi: CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury on Thursday said that “The BJP has failed in its very laboratory of communal and hate politics in Kairana.”

“Kairana was their laboratory of communal and hate politics. For the BJP to lose with such a massive margin is a signal that people of our country are not accepting RSS-BJP’s governance and the way they are destroying the unity and integrity of our country. For them to be defeated there, is very significant,” Mr. Yechury said.

The CPI(M) leader said more than the “United Opposition” which the BJP has been blaming for their recent setbacks, the ruling party must realise that its own social base is shifting.

“The BJP is blaming the united opposition for their defeat, while actually, their own social base is shrinking. If you look at the vote share, there is a substantial drop in the voting percentage of the BJP,” Mr Yechury said

RLD candidate Tabassum Hasan’s on Thursday defeated BJP’s Mriganka Singh, daughter of late Hukum Singh. Tabassum Hasam was backed by Samajwadi Party, Congress and BSP.

While speaking on the RJD’s victory over BJP’s ally JDU in Bihar’s Jokihat. Yechury said “Bihar and Uttar Pradesh are the two States that helped achieve the majority in 2014. People are now increasingly coming together to oust this government to maintain the integrity of our country and for their welfare.”
