Sachin Pilot said that BJP tried running away from questions of the people. But, Mr Gandhi forced the Modi government to be accountable.
After a flattering victory of Congress in bypolls, Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee President Sachin Pilot believes that Rahul Gandhi is the only person who can give a tough fight to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
Pilot said that BJP tried running away from questions of the people. But, Mr. Gandhi forced the Modi government to be accountable. Yesterday, Sonia Gandhi addressing the Congress Parliamentary Committee said that the party should brace itself for early elections. Lauding Rahul Gandhi, she said, “He is my boss too.”
Talking about the transformed Rahul Gandhi, Sachin Pilot further said that opposition forces are now gaining confidence and energy because Rahul Gandhi is relentlessly attacking BJP leadership for all its failure.
“He is the only person who is going to be able to take on Mr. Modi and mount a formidable challenge to dethrone the BJP in 2019,” said Pilot, confidently.
He believes the Anti-BJP forces are now joining hands and the galvanized opposition will pose a serious challenge to the BJP under the guidance of Mr. Gandhi. Sachin Pilot said, “The BJP is becoming ‘nervous’ with Mr. Gandhi constantly asking them questions on the promises made by them.”
Taking a dig at Prime Minister’s rally speeches and Mann Ki Baat, Pilot said, “BJP loses its nerve when questioned about past performance, on data, on promises made. It’s very easy to give a sermon and monologue but when you are asked questions, you have to answer them satisfactorily.”
Pilot also believes that only Congress can take on BJP nationally. “Under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership it is now fully geared up to take on the BJP whenever the Lok Sabha elections happen,” Pilot said.
Congress registered a victory on the Alwar and Ajmer Lok Sabha and Mandalgarh Assembly seats from the BJP by impressive margins. Sachin Pilot said that the party will also win the Karnataka Assembly elections.
