New Delhi | The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) on the 2nd day of its National Executive meeting in Delhi promised to end casteism, communalism, terrorism and Naxalism within the country till 2022.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday presented a Political Proposal in the National Executive meeting aimed towards fulfiling the dream of a New India which was accepted by the Central Working Committee of BJP. The proposal was focused on various issues like economic reforms, NRC and internal security.
Addressing a Press Conference, BJP leader and Union Minister Prakash Javdekar informed about Rajnath Singh’s Proposal. Taking a dig at the opposition Javdekar said,” The opposition has no leaders, no policy nor a strategy, that is why the opposition is desperate and the negativity is politicized.”
He further stated that during the meeting it was discussed that BJP has won elections in 15 states and formed government in 20 states. Opposition is in 10 states and the Congress has reduced to just three states. Therefore, the opposition is troubled to gain power and is looking for an alternative like a coalition. Speaking on the speculation of a united opposition against BJP Javdekar said, “The only goal of the Opposition is “Modi Roko” so the opposition is talking about the unethical coalition.”
The issue of NRC was also discussed during the National Executive meeting of BJP. It was clearly mentioned that NRC has done great work for the security of the country and the BJP will also take steps to protect the interests of the minority refugees coming to India. However, it clarified that Rohingya and Bangladeshi intruders will be excluded. The proposal added that if Sikh, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu refugees from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan come to the country then they will be helped.
Along with Party President Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, senior leaders like LK Advani, Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj were also present in the meeting.
