New Delhi: On Friday Bharatiya Janata Party has announced its first list of candidates for Delhi Assembly Elections 2020. As Delhi is going for polls next month BJP has finally announced there candidates’ names.
The BJP Delhi chief and parliamentarian Manoj Tiwari announced a list of nominees for 57 out of 70 seats.
BJP’s Kapil Mishra will contest from Model Town, Vijender Gupta will contest from Rohini, Rekha Gupta from Shalimar Bagh and Suman Kumar Gupta will contest from Chandni Chowk.
However, the BJP did not name its candidate against AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday with Tiwari saying the candidate from New Delhi seat will be announced soon.
After the announcement, Tiwari also claimed that his party is confident of a win in Delhi, where it has been out of power since 1998.
The state BJP president Manoj Tiwari said 11 of the candidates are from the Scheduled Caste (SC) community and four are women. Tiwari also said the names of the remaining 13 candidates will be announced later.
The BJP has also fielded former AAP leader Anil Vajpayee. He has been given a ticket from Gandhinagar.
Surprisingly, the BJP has held back the name of the leader who will be contesting against Arvind Kejriwal in New Delhi constituency.

Elections for 70 seats in Delhi will be observed as triangular contest between ruling AAP, BJP and Congress. The voting will be held on 8 February and counting will be done on February 11.
