Brightest fleeing ‘sinking ship’ steered by RSS: Rahul Gandhi on Chief Economic Adviser’s exit

Congress chief Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday criticised the central government, claiming that its brightest talents were fleeing the “sinking ship” as the “invisible hand” of the Rashtriya Swayemsevak Sangh (RSS) was steering it into rocks.

“It has been the best job I ever had or will ever have. It was enriching & exciting. I will go back with the happiest best memories of this tenure. I will always be committed to serving the country in future,” Subramanian said after his resignation was announced. Subramanian’s resignation was announced yesterday by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Facebook. Jaitley said Subramanian had resigned due to “pressing family commitments”.

Gandhi criticised the Union minister for breaking the news on Facebook and questioned whether Jaitley, who held the finance portfolio before undergoing a kidney transplant in mid-May, continued to be the finance minister. In a veiled dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress party president also alleged that Modi was “fast asleep” and described the situation as crazy in the tweet.
