Lucknow | The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has confirmed that their supremo Mayawati will not be meeting UPA chairman Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi today.
The clarification comes after rumours spread that Mayawati will be joining an all-opposition meeting in Delhi, which included former Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and current chief Rahul Gandhi.
Speaking to ANI, Senior BSP leader Satish Chandra Mishra said, “Mayawati ji has no programme or meetings scheduled in Delhi today, she will be in Lucknow.”
On Saturday, Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu met Mayawati in Lucknow. The meetings are allegedly to keep BJP from coming back to power and forming a majority.
On Sunday, several exit polls on television channels have projected the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will come back to power again with a majority of 300 seats in the 543 member Lok Sabha.
