UP: A police official was removed from his post and sent to police lines on Thursday after a  video in which he is allegedly seen making objectionable comments against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath surfaced, according to officials.

Station House Officer of Asandra police station Dhyanendra Pratap Singh allegedly made the comments against the chief minister Yogi Adityanath while talking to someone in his office.

A journalist forwarded a video of this conversation to BJP district president Shashank Kushumesh, who in turn, registered a complaint against the official with the Superintendent of Police Anurag Vats a couple of days ago.

Mr. Kushumesh alleged that the SHO was trying to create a revolt against the government by making such comments in public.

An inquiry in the matter is underway, stated a police official.

Earlier in January this year a police sub-inspector, G Sekar attached to the Flower Bazaar police station in Chennai, was suspended for his alleged political comment on a social media post.

According to BBC, The leadership polls are scheduled over the summer and the victor will replace Mr.Boris Johnson at the partyโ€™s yearly conference in early October.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Thursday resigned after days of defections plunged the Conservative Party-led government into a deeper political turmoil.

In his address to the nation, Johnson said he will serve as the PM until a new leader is appointed.

Johnson also said he was immensely proud of his achievements. According to AP the decision to step down comes after one of his closest allies Treasury Chief Nadhim Zahawi suggested him to resign for the good of the UK.

โ€œIt is clearly the will of the parliamentary Conservative party that there should be a new leader of that party, and therefore a new prime minister,โ€ Mr. Johnson added.

The English PM  outside 10 Downing Street further said, he was โ€œsadโ€ฆ to be giving up the best job in the worldโ€ and justified fighting on in the final hours to deliver the mandate he won in a general election in December 2019.

According to BBC, The leadership polls are scheduled over the summer and the victor will replace Mr.Boris Johnson at the partyโ€™s yearly conference in early October.

In the frenzied hours building up to Mr.Johnsonโ€™s announcement, opposition Labour leader Keir Starmer had welcomed his impending departure.

โ€œA proper change of governmentโ€ was needed and demanded a no-confidence vote in parliament, potentially triggering a general election, rather than Mr. Johnson โ€œclinging on for months and monthsโ€, Mr. Starmer said.

Even while eyeing the exit, Mr. Johnson on Thursday sought to steady the ship with several appointments to replace the departed members of the cabinet.

According to reports, there were cries of โ€œbye, Borisโ€ which echoed around the chamber at the end of his speech.
