In March 2007, the Supreme Court had ordered the CBI to investigate into the properties of Mulayam, Akhilesh, Daughter-in-law Dimple and Prakash Yadav on Chaturvedi’s PIL.

New Delhi| The disproportionate assets case against Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and his father Mulayam Singh Yadav has reached Supreme Court again.

Supreme Court Advocate and Congress leader Vishwanath Chaturvedi has filed an application in the apex court and has demanded that the CBI report of the investigation into disproportionate assets of Akhilesh, Pratik and Mulayam Singh Yadav be placed in the court. In the petition, he said that the CBI had examined it and found that it is a case of disproportionate assets against the first family of Samajwadi Party. But even after six years have passed, the CBI has not presented this report in any court. In an assessment conducted in 2013, this property was found to be more than Rs 24 crores.

Significantly, in March 2007, the Supreme Court had ordered the CBI to investigate into the properties of Mulayam, Akhilesh, Daughter-in-law Dimple and Prakash Yadav on Chaturvedi’s PIL. However, after the 2012 Supreme Court removed Akhilesh Yadav’s wife’s name from the case saying that she was not in any public office.
