Sushma Swaraj said that the party has come to a stage where they have to assert Rahul Gandhi’s identity as Janeudhari Brahmin.
New Delhi| Congress President Rahul Gandhi during a rally in Rajasthan questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Hindutva on Wednesday. Attacking PM Modi, he asked whether he understands the fundamentals of Hinduism. Hitting back at Gandhi, Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj said that the party need not learn Hinduism from Rahul Gandhi.
Sushma Swaraj: Rahul Gandhi said PM doesn’t know meaning of being a Hindu. He said that because he&Congress are confused about his religion& caste. For yrs, party presented him as secualr leader but near polls when they realised that Hindus are in majority, they created this image pic.twitter.com/0gknII5jsv

Countering Congress President’s claims, Swaraj said that it is the Congress which is in a dilemma about their religion and not BJP. She said, “Rahul Gandhi and Congress workers are in dilemma. For years the party presented him as a secular leader but when he saw the election closely and felt that he was a majority, he made this image.” Swaraj further said that the party has come to a stage where they have to assert Rahul Gandhi’s identity as Janeudhari Brahmin. “I did not know that the Janeudhari Brahmin has become so enlightened that we have to understand from him what being a Hindu means.”

Swaraj said the claims are a clear indication that there is a dilemma amongst the Congress workers. ” There is a lack of confidence in the Congress. Congress party workers are in dilemma Congress pants are going to be lost in the elections of the states. ”
Earlier while addressing a gathering in Udaipur, Rahul Gandhi had questioned PM Modi’s Hindutva.
