“Don’t preach us Rajdharma” : Ravi Shankar Prasad to Sonia Gandhi over Delhi violence

Ravi Shankar Prasad further attacked Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi over her call for agitation to save the Constitution

New Delhi: Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Friday slammed at Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi over the violence in Delhi. He said that the opposition leader should not attack the central government when her own party’s record was questionable.

Prasad said “Shreemati Sonia Gandhi please don’t preach us ‘Rajdharma’ (Ruler’s Duty). Your record is full of rapid violations, twists and turns for a plane and simple vote bank politics,”.

He added, “Our party condemns in the strongest possible terms the pure politicking by the Congress party during such a sensitive issue where we all need to talk collectively about peace, harmony,”.

Prasad attacked Sonia Gandhi and said, “‘Iss paar, uss paar faisla lena hai‘, you said in Ramlila Maidan. What kind of language is this? Isn’t this incitement? This is against a constitutional procedure that was followed for the passage of CAA.”

After meeting President Ram Nath Kovind along with a party delegation, Sonia Gandhi had said that Home Minister Amit Shah should be sacked for “abdicating” his duties and both the central government and Delhi government had been “mute spectators” to the clashes that had claimed at least 39 lives.

The congress at its memorandum said, “Rashtrapati Ji you are given the highest possible responsibility under the Constitution of India: to act as the conscience keeper of this Government and to remind it of its Constitutional duty and the pillars of Raj Dharma, by which any just government must abide,”.
