Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde on Wednesday agreed to take up the Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister’s role and will be sworn in along with Chief Minister-designate Devendra Fadnavis and another deputy-designate Ajit Pawar at Mumbai’s Azad Maidan tomorrow at 17:30, according to India Today.
It is noteworthy that according to sources, a faction in the Shinde Sena urged him to take the DCM post only if the party gets the Home Portfolio. However, the BJP would likely keep the Home and revenue Portfolio with themselves.
