Eknath Shinde Visits Uddhav Thackerays’ Aide Milind Narvekar’s Residence

Eknath Shinde , who rebelled against Thackeray’s leadership in June and toppled his government, visited  Milind Narvekar’s residence to pay obeisance to Lord Ganesh.

 

Mumbai: On Thursday, Eknath Shinde, the chief minister of Maharashtra,  Shinde, who overthrew Thackeray’s government in June by insurrection, claime paid a Ganesh festival visit to Milind Narvekar, the personal assistant of Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray.d he went to Mr. Narvekar’s house to worship Lord Ganesh.

However, the visit also gained significance because Mr. Narvekar is thought to be close to Uddhav Thackeray.

Mr. Narvekar had been to Surat in June to meet with the rebel MLAs who were backingShinde.

The Sena-NCP-Congress government in Maharashtra, led by Thackeray, was ultimately overthrown by  Shinde. He and Uddhav Thackeray are currently engaged in a judicial dispute over who should lead the Shiv Sena.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday morning commissioned the first indigenous aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant in a ceremony at Cochin Shipyard Limited in Kochi. The Indigenous Aircraft Carrier is named after her illustrious predecessor, India’s first aircraft carrier, which had played a vital role in the 1971 war.

All you need to know about the INS Vikrant:

  1. The made-in-India aircraft carrier has over 2,300 compartments, designed for a crew of around 1700 people, including specialized cabins to accommodate women officers.
  2. The aircraft carrier has a top speed of around 28 knots and a cruising speed of 18 knots with an endurance of about 7,500 nautical miles.
  3. The ship is powered by four gas turbines totaling 88 MW power and can travel up to a speed of 28 Knots.
  4. The project has been implemented under the three phases of a contract between the ministry of defense and Cochin Shipyard Ltd, beginning May 2007. The ship’s keel was laid 13 years ago in February 2009.
  5. PM Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, and senior officials from the Armed Forces are expected to be present at the event of commissioning.
  6. The ship also has a full-fledged medical complex with the latest equipment including a physiotherapy clinic, ICU, laboratories, and isolation ward.
  7. INS Vikrant would be capable of operating an air wing consisting of 30 aircraft, comprising MiG-29K fighter jets, Kamov-31, and MH-60R multi-role helicopters, in addition to indigenously manufactured Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) and Light Combat Aircraft (LCA).
  8. With INS Vikrant, India has joined a select group of nations having the niche capability to indigenously design and build an aircraft carrier. INS Vikrant consists of 14 decks with 2,300 compartments that can carry around 1,500 sea warriors and to cater to the food requirements, around 10,000 chapatis or rotis are made in the ship’s kitchen, which is called the ship’s galley.
