Haryana Polls Rescheduled To October 5; Results With J&K On October 8

Voting in the upcoming assembly election in Haryana will be now held on 5th October instead of 1st October, the Election Commission announced. The results for both Jammu & Kashmir and Haryana have been shifted from 4th October to 8th October. The poll body said this was done keeping in mind the sentiment of the Bishnoi community – whose centuries-old Asoj Amavasya festival celebration will take place on 2nd October.

Malayalam actor Jayasurya on Sunday denied charges of sexual harassment against him, adding that he would take legal action. Two cases of sexual harassment have been filed against him. Reportedly, an FIR was registered under Section 354 (intent to outrage a woman’s modesty) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. This comes amidst a slew of rape and sexual assault allegations in Mollywood against celebrities including actor Siddique and filmmaker Ranjith.
