Hemant Soren To Take Oath As Jharkhand CM Today

Hemant Soren, leader of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), will be sworn in as the 13th Chief Minister of Jharkhand on Thursday evening following an invitation from Governor CP Radhakrishnan to form the government. Recently released on bail from a land scam case after five months in jail, Soren’s ceremony is scheduled for 5 pm today.

Uttar Pradesh has established a three-member Judicial Inquiry Commission, led by retired Justice Brijesh Kumar Srivastava from the Allahabad High Court, to probe the Hathras stampede on July 2, resulting in at least 121 deaths. Governor Anandiben Patel notified, appointing retired IAS officer Hemant Rao and retired IPS officer Bhavesh Kumar Singh as commission members. The commission will be based in Lucknow.
