New Delhi | Union Minister and BJP leader Arun Jaitley on Friday alleged that the Insurgent groups in the country have earned a sympathy in Rahul Gandhi’s heart.
“Even though the Congress Party historically & ideologically would have been opposed to these groups, they have earned a sympathy in Rahul Gandhi’s heart. He had no qualms about joining those who raised subversive slogans at JNU and Hyderabad,” he tweeted.
In a blog post on Facebook titled ‘Who Is Threatening Human Rights?’ Jaitley said that the ideological supporters of Maoists were spread across the country.
Jaitley in the blog asked that who is threatening the human rights of the citizens in the State of Jammu and Kashmir? The entire Kashmiri Pandit community has been banished from the State. Initially spared but after the Chittissinghpura Massacre in the year 2000, most of the Sikh community has moved out. He alleged that why such human rights bodies “have never a tear to shed” when it comes to the killing of security personnel.
Identifying the jehadis and separatists on one hand and the Maoist insurgents on the other as the two main groups involved in “insurgency and terrorism”, he wrote that both these groups wanted to “overthrow constitutionally elected Governments” and abhorred democracy.
He stated that from the past three years the terrorists up their activities in the months of April, May and June so that the economic lifeline of the valley suffers in the tourism season. They terrorise courts; they kill editors; they kill innocent citizens. While speaking about the Maoist, he criticized the Maoist for not allowing development activity in tribal regions where they have a presence. “They kill innocent tribals who don’t agree with them; they destroy public buildings; they kill security personnel and they even charge a parallel tax from helpless citizens,” he added.
He further accused the likes of Aam Aadmi Party and TMC for supporting these group for a political opportunity. Such groups are an over-ground face of the underground. Our policy has to be “Save the Human Rights of every Indian – be it a tribal or a Kashmiri” from terrorists,” he added.
