Gandhi said “Our government in Chhattisgarh procures paddy at Rs 2,500 MSP. Farmers in Jharkhand will also get the same rate if we win the election,”
Badkagaon: On Monday Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP of grabbing land in states, where the party was in power, declaring that Jharkhand’s ‘Jal, Jungle, and Jameen’ would be returned to its people if the opposition alliance came to power.
Addressing a poll meeting in Jharkhand, Gandhi said the Congress-JMM-RJD alliance will waive farm loan up to Rs 2 lakh and provide compensation for land acquired by force if it forms government in the state.
Gandhi promised to the farmers a minimum support price (MSP) of Rs 2,500 for paddy.
Gandhi said “Our government in Chhattisgarh procures paddy at Rs 2,500 MSP. Farmers in Jharkhand will also get the same rate if we win the election,”.
Two phases of the five-phased Assembly elections have ended. The next phase of the poll will be held on December 12. Around residents of 17 constituencies will be casting their ballot.
The counting of votes and the result of the election will be declared on December 23.
