The Janata Dal released its second list with 57 party candidates on Friday. The list features the names of State president H.D. Kumaraswamy and working president P.G.R. Sindhia. By the looks of the list, it is very evident that JD has accommodated most of the party-hoppers from the Congress and BJP.
Prominent names included in the list are reformed underworld don Jedarahalli Krishnappa from Rajajinagar and dissident BJP businessman Hemachandra Sagar.
A one-time close confidante of CM Siddaramaiah and Congress ticket aspirant P. Ramesh has been fielded from C.V. Raman Nagar. Meanwhile, in a surprise, the party also fielded Mr. Sindhia from Basavakalyan in Bidar district. A former Minister, he had earlier represented Kanakapura constituency.
Actor turned politician Shashikumar who was keen to contest from Molakalmuru was denied a Congress ticket. Recently, he joined JD(S) and he has been given ticket to contest from Hosadurga assembly constituency.
Some of the other names include Jedrahalli Krishnappa who has several criminal cases against him, JD(S) councillor from Jagajeevanaramnagar assembly constituency Seema’s husband Althaf and others.
