Rahul Gandhi to visit Kailash Mansarovar

New Delhi | Congress President Rahul Gandhi who created headlines with his soft Hindutva ideology during the Gujarat Assembly election will go on a religious pilgrimage to Kailash Mansarovar later this week.

Rahul Gandhi will be visiting Kailash Mansarovar on August 31 however he will be going through the China route, not Nepal. According to sources, Gandhi decided to visit the religious Hindu pilgrim after he escaped an accident during the Karnataka assembly election when the aircraft in which he was travelling developed a technical snag mid-air and plunged several feet. During the Gujarat assembly election Gandhi called himself as a janeu-dhari (sacred thread wearing) Brahmin and a devotee of Lord Shiva.

Gandhi who is currently in Kerala on a 2-day visit to the flood-affected regions Kerala after his 2 nation tour to Germany and United Kingdom will see this as an opportune time before the assembly elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhatisgarh.
