Kamal Haasan slams Rajinikanth for not speaking up on Cauvery issue

Kamal Haasan said, “Rajinikanth has not expressed his opinions on several issues. This is not the only one. However, it is not right to pinpoint only one issue.”

The newly launched political parties aren’t even set up completely but the blame-game has begun. Training guns at the Tamil superstar Rajinikanth who is also planning to embark upon his political journey soon, Kamal Haasan said that the actor has maintained silence on several important issues plaguing Tamil Nadu. Kamal Haasan recently launched his party Makkal Needhi Maiam in Tamil Nadu.

Talking about Rajinikanth’s silence, Kamal Haasan on Monday said the actor has maintained silence on Cauvery issue. He further added, “Rajinikanth has not expressed his opinions on several issues. This is not the only one. However, it is not right to pinpoint only one issue.”

Rajinikanth who announced his plans to take up political endeavours in the state of Tamil Nadu on the last day of 2017, has even come under fire for not actively participating in protests over the Cauvery issue. He was even missing from the protests organized by the film industry on the same issue. However, he had recently expressed that he was disappointed with the Supreme Court verdict reducing the quantum of water to Tamil Nadu.

The Apex Court had also asked the Centre to set up a Cauvery Management Board to ensure the release of the allotted amount of water to the state. Talking about it, Kamal Haasan said, “Centre must set up the board immediately.”
