Kamal Haasan slams Rajinikanth for not speaking up on Cauvery issue

Kamal Haasan said, “Rajinikanth has not expressed his opinions on several issues. This is not the only one. However, it is not right to pinpoint only one issue.”

 

The newly launched political parties aren’t even set up completely but the blame-game has begun. Training guns at the Tamil superstar Rajinikanth who is also planning to embark upon his political journey soon, Kamal Haasan said that the actor has maintained silence on several important issues plaguing Tamil Nadu. Kamal Haasan recently launched his party Makkal Needhi Maiam in Tamil Nadu.

Talking about Rajinikanth’s silence, Kamal Haasan on Monday said the actor has maintained silence on Cauvery issue. He further added, “Rajinikanth has not expressed his opinions on several issues. This is not the only one. However, it is not right to pinpoint only one issue.”

Rajinikanth who announced his plans to take up political endeavours in the state of Tamil Nadu on the last day of 2017, has even come under fire for not actively participating in protests over the Cauvery issue. He was even missing from the protests organized by the film industry on the same issue. However, he had recently expressed that he was disappointed with the Supreme Court verdict reducing the quantum of water to Tamil Nadu.

The Apex Court had also asked the Centre to set up a Cauvery Management Board to ensure the release of the allotted amount of water to the state. Talking about it, Kamal Haasan said, “Centre must set up the board immediately.”

Bhopal| Ending the two days long speculations the Congress finally declared Kamal Nath as the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister. However, there will not be a deputy Chief Minister in the Hindi Heartland state. The announcement came after party president Rahul Gandhi met both CM aspirants, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Kamal Nath at his residence in Delhi.

Following their meeting with Gandhi, both the leaders returned to Bhopal where a meeting of legislators was scheduled. While confident Kamal Nath greeted thhe party workers as he reached the party headquarters in Bhopal, Scindia was nowhere to be seen.

Earlier, in the day sources from the Congress party had said that party may handover the reins of Madhya Pradesh to Kamal Nath. The official announcement came after thorough deliberation by the Congress top leadership.

Kamal Nath, the state unit chief of Madhya Pradesh was sent to the state ahead of election campaigning to take over the charge. A close confidante of Gandhi family, Kamal Nath was once described by the former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi as her third son. The MP from Chhindwara has now been elected as the leader of the ruling party in assembly. He is expected to take oath as the Chief Minister by Friday afternoon.

Congress won 114 seats in the Madhya Pradesh assembly becoming the single largest party. It will form government with the support of 2 BSP and 1 SP MLA.

Sachin Pilot, Ashok Gehlot ask supporters to maintain peace

Jaipur | Amid the announcement of the Chief Minister in Rajasthan both Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot have asked thier supporters to maintain peace and decourum in the state.

Ashok Gehlot, one of the probable CM in Rajasthan speaking to media said,” I appeal to workers to maintain calm, they have worked very hard, whatever decisions will be taken will be binding on all. Rahul ji is talking to and consulting all leaders.”

Gehlot further added that a decision will be taken soon, there is nothing to worry. Just wait, the decision has to be taken on CMs of three states so naturally, it takes time. Party president will take a call.

Meanwhile Rajasthan State unit chief and CM candidate Sachin Pilot appeal the supporters to maintain peace in the state. He said,”I appeal to party workers to maintain peace and decorum. I have full faith in the leadership, we will welcome whatever Rahul Gandhi ji and Sonia Gandhi ji decide.” He further added that it is our responsibility to uphold the honour of the party, we are dedicated to the party.”


Sachin pilot further asked the media to not run news based on rumours and only rely on confirmed news. “We will welcome whatever the party leadership decides,” he added.

Mallya, who was accused of absconding several PNB nationals worth nine thousand crore rupees. India is in an attempt to extradite Mallya as soon as possible.
