Kirron Kher apologizes for sharing video featuring children shouting slogans

Chandigarh | Actor turned politician Kirron Kher has been sent a notice by the Election Commission for sharing a video which features children who are campaigning for BJP.

The video shows children shouting slogans like “Vote for Kirron Kher” and “Ab Ki Baar Modi Sarkar“.

The complaint was filed by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCH) requesting the Election Commission of India to ensure that children are not involved in any form with election-related activities.

“Whatever happened was wrong… children were used. Somebody sent it to us, my team shared it and later deleted it, very sorry, it happened, it should not have happened,” said Kher, as quoted by news agency ANI.

Kirron Kher will be contesting from BJP ticket in Chandigarh against Pawan Kumar Bansal.

The results of the counting will be declared on May 23.
