Kisan Sansad Begins At Jantar Mantar, Protesting Farmers Vow To Oppose MPs If They Don’t Raise The Matter

In light of Kisan Sansad, Delhi Police has increased security at Jantar Mantar. Apart from this, heavy forces are also deployed at the Singhu border and Tikri border.

The protesting farmers, who have been on the borders of Delhi for more than 6 months, have now reached Jantar Mantar on Thursday. A group of farmers led by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) will organize a ‘Kisan Sansad’ here. Delhi Police has given them permission to protest but with a condition. Only 200 protesting farmers will be allowed at a time at Jantar Mantar.

The first batch of 200 farmers reached Jantar Mantar by bus. The demonstration will take place from 11 am to 5 pm. Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait said that if the MPs do not raise their voice in the Parliament in favour of farmers, then whatever party they belong to, they will be strongly opposed in their area. In view of ‘Kisan Sansad’, Delhi Police has increased security at Jantar Mantar. Apart from this, heavy forces are also deployed at the Singhu border and Tikri border.

Congress MPs demonstrated in the Parliament premises against the new Farm laws. Former party president and Lok Sabha MP Rahul Gandhi led the protest. However, he did not say anything about ‘Kisan Sansad’. When Rahul came out after the adjournment of the house, he remained silent when the journalists questioned him.

The next stop of the agitating farmers will be Uttar Pradesh. The most populous state of the country will go for Assembly Election next year. The farmers plan to create pressure on the BJP ahead of the elections in an attempt to isolate the party. Prem Singh Bhangu, a farmer leader present on the Singhu border, told news agency ANI, “Our UP mission will start from September 5. We will completely isolate the BJP. There is no option but to withdraw the three agricultural laws.”
