Rahul Gandhi said while legal system is overloaded with cases 400 High Court and 6,000 Lower Court judges are yet to be appointed.
Days after Law and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad alleged the Congress party of having the links with the now infamous Cambridge Analytica- a data mining company with political operations, Congress President Rahul Gandhi has hit back at him alleging that the Law Minister is not paying attention to the legal crisis in India.
Rahul Gandhi in a tweet shared an image depicting information from National Judicial Data Grid and court websites. He also listed the number of pending cases in the courts. Terming “Legal System collapsing under pending cases”, Rahul Gandhi wrote that there are more than 55,000 cases pending in the Supreme Court while High Courts are reeling under more than 37 Lakh cases. He further said that the lower courts are burdened with more than 2.6 Crore pending cases.

Taking a jibe at the Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad who had taken the responsibility to launch a scathing attack on Congress after the Cambridge Analytica row, Rahul said while legal system is overloaded with cases 400 High Court and 6,000 Lower Court judges are yet to be appointed.
Apparently, he also took a dig at him indicating that instead of looking into the judicial crisis, the law minister is busy “peddling fake news”.
Earlier, Rahul had accused the BJP of diverting the attention of the nation from the 39 Indians killed in Iraq to the Facebook data breach and falsely linking Cambridge Analytica with the party.
