New Delhi| Amid growing concerns around the spread of covid-19 Coronavirus, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Ashwini Kumar Choubey on Thursday said that “absorbing light” can prevent the infection of the deadly virus that has taken almost 8000 lives.
MoS Health Ashwini Kumar Chaubey said that as sunlight provides Vitamin D and boosts immunity, standing in the sunlight would help battle coronavirus.
Speaking to reporters outside parliament, Chaubey Advocated, “10-15 minutes in the sun would build immunity as sunlight provides Vitamin D.”
“From 11am to 2pm, the sun is shining brightly. We should spend at least 10-15 minutes to absorb sunlight so that we get vitamin D which improves the immunity of our body and also kills such viruses. All should be aware of (this fact),” Chaubey further added.
The total cases of coronavirus infected have risen to 170 in India on Thursday as new cases were reported from different parts of the country.
Globally, the virus has killed over 8000 people and has infected more than 2,00,000 people.
