MP Crisis Live: CM Kamal Nath Resigns Ahead of Floor test

MP Chief Minister Kamal Nath announced his resignation on Friday, hours ahead of the Supreme Court-mandated floor test in the Assembly.

Bhopal| The political turmoil in MP moved to Bengaluru today as senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh sat on a protest after he was stopped from meeting the rebel MLAs lodged in Ramada hotel, hours ahead of the Supreme Court hearing a petition filed by the BJP seeking an immediate floor test of the Kamal Nath government.

MP Chief Minister Kamal Nath, whose government fell into crisis after 16 MLAs believed to be close to senior Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia have whisked away to Bengaluru with their phones turned off, today tried to placate his miffed colleagues by sending feelers to the Guna royal.

State BJP sources told The Indian Express that тАЬthe party is now ready to play the gameтАЭ and that тАЬthe national leadership is in the loopтАЭ. But a senior party leader said it was too early to say whether the state government would fall.
