Bhopal| Continuing the series of letters, Madhya Pradesh governor has written another letter. This time responding to Assembly speaker NP Prajapati. The Speaker on March 17 had written a letter to the governor. Replying to it, Governor Lalji Tandon said that he understands the pain speaker NP Prajapati is going through.

He also praised him for his “Impartial and Courageous” decision of accepting the resignation of six MLAs. After senior Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia left the Congress and joined the BJP, several Congress legislators followed his lead. At least 22 MLAs resigned from the assembly pushing the 15-month-old Kamal Nath Government into a crisis.

The MLAs since then have been holed up in Bengaluru. However, Congress has alleged that the rebel MLAs have been kept in Bengaluru’s Ramada Hotel forcefully by the BJP. it also alleged that the BJP Government in the state is misusing the police and not letting the Congress leaders meet the rebel MLAs.

The speaker in his letter to the Governor a day ago had highlighted the issue of the security of the Rebel MLAs. Responding to it, Governor wrote, “I can appreciate your concern for the security of the missing MLAs in view of their absence from the House. I can also guess the kind of pain you are undergoing since last 8-10 days in view of the above.”

He further wrote that as a speaker Prajapati must be aware of the legal procedure regarding accepting the resignation of MLAs when they are absent from the house even after knowing fully well that the house is in session.
