Watch: Digvijaya Singh Taken Into Preventive Custody In Bengaluru

Digvijaya Singh alleges that BJP has kidnapped its MLAs and is pursuing them to join the party. Singh has now been taken into preventive custody.

Bengaluru| Digvijaya Singh has been taken into preventive custody by the police after he sat in protest outside a Bengaluru hotel where the rebel Madhya Pradesh MLAs are staying.

In a video released by the Congress, Digvijaya Singh is seen saying, “I’m an ex-chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, who is a Rajya Sabha election candidate. The voting is on March 26. Twenty-two MLAs are staying here and they want to talk to me. But their phones have been taken away and the police are not allowing us to talk to them.” “The police are saying that the MLAs have a security threat. I have told them (police) that I’m a Gandhian and I don’t have a bomb or any rifle, allow them to meet us and I will go back.”

“We were expecting them to come back, but when we saw they are being held back, messages came from their families…I personally spoke to five MLAs, they said they are captive, phones snatched away, there is police in front of every room. They are being followed 24/7,” said senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh.

Congress leaders Sachin Yadav and Kantilal Bhuria have also been placed under preventive custody. Bhuria was present at the police station in Bengaluru where Singh was taken this morning.
