Delhi| In what came as a shocker, all ministers of Madhya Pradesh cabinet have submitted their resignation to Chief Minister Kamal Nath. According to the reports, 22 ministers have resigned. This iis seen as an act of making way for Scindia camp MLAs who have gone incommunicado. They are reportedly holed up in Bengaluru in Karnataka which is ruled by BJP.
The decision to submit resignation came after cabinet meeting. Chief Minister Kamal Nath in the evening held a meeting at his residence which went on for more than an hour.
Amid the crisis situation in politics of Madhya Pradesh, CM Kamal Nath met Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Monday in New Delhi.
Kamal Nath, after coming out of the meeting, said he has sought Sonia’s guidance over the current scenario in the State and will follow what she told him. He said he made her aware of the crisis in the state. He also mentioned that the discussion on the Rajya Sabha candidates also took place during the meeting.
In last week, Congress had accused BJP of ‘kidnapping’ it’s MLAs and housing them in one hotel of Haryana. But soon after 8 out of 10 MLAs returned back to Congress’s fold, the party must be relieved. 2 out of the 10 MLAs named Hardeep Singh Dang and Raghuraj Kansana are still missing.
Amid the crisis, an independent MLA Surendra Singh alias Shera’s remarks created a lot of speculations after he said that if given a choice, he would like to be a home minister of the state and make the police more people-friendly.
After the news of Congress MLAs being approached by BJP came out, Kamal Nath has been taking measures to avoid any mishaps. He’s given the responsibility to all his ministers to stay in touch with all MLAs and ensure that they are happy. It’s said that one minister is looking after 10 MLAs.
Many speculations are made in the context of the Rajya Sabha candidature. Senior leaders like Digvijaya Singh and Jyotiraditya Scindia are likely to use their power for the candidature.
The recent reports suggest that around 17 MLAs have flown out who are in support of Jyotiraditya Scindia. More updates are awaited on this news.
