Nirbhaya’s Mother Asha Devi Slams Indira For Asking Her To Pardon Convicts On Death Row

Nirbhaya’s mother Asha Devi hitting back at Indira Jaising asked, “Who is she to give me such a suggestion? I will not forgive them even if God asks me to.”

 

New Delhi| Senior advocate Indira Jaising has appealed to Nirbhaya’s mother to pardon convicts in 2012 Nirbhaya gangrape and murder case. She requested Nirbhaya’s mother Asha Devi to not seek the death penalty for the four convicts.

However, Nirbhaya’s Mother hitting back at Indira Jaising asked, “Who is she to give me such a suggestion? I will not forgive them even if God asks me to.” Earlier on Friday, Asha Devi had expressed displeasure over the Delhi court’s decision to extend the date of the death warrant for Nirbhaya convicts. She said that those who were holding rallies in the slogan of women safety in 2012, they are delaying the punishment of convicts for political gain.

On this, Indira tweeted, “I can fully understand the pain of Asha Devi. But I appeal to them to follow Sonia Gandhi, who pardoned Nalini (convicted of murdering former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi). They do not want the death sentence for her. We are all with you, but against the death penalty. ”

People do not get justice because of the likes of Indira Jaising: Asha Devi

On Indira Jaising’s statement, Asha Devi said, “The whole country wants the criminals to be hanged. Because of people like her, the victims of wrongdoing cannot get justice. Would not believe that she made such a suggestion. I met her in the Supreme Court for many years. She did not even think about me once and today she is speaking for the guilty. Such people support the evildoers and earn a living, so the events of the rape are not stopped. ”

Patiala House Court of Delhi on January 7 had given death warrant to Nirbhaya convicts to be hanged at 7 am on January 22. A new death warrant was issued on January 17, which ordered the hanging on February 1 at 6 am.
