Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti welcome Kathua rape case judgement

Srinagar | Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah have weclomed court’s decision on the Kathua gang rape.

PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti asserted that it was “high time to stop playing politics over this heinous crime”

Mufti wrote on Twitter, “Welcome the judgement. High time we stop playing politics over a heinous crime where an 8-year-old child was drugged, raped repeatedly & then bludgeoned to death. Hope loopholes in our judicial system are not exploited & culprits get exemplary punishment”.

Meanwhile, NC leader Omar Abdullah said that the guilty deserve most severe punishment.

He wrote on Twitter,”Amen to that. The guilty deserve the most severe punishment possible under law. And to those politicians who defended the accused, vilified the victim & threatened the legal system no words of condemnation are enough”.

A special court in Pathankot today convicted 6 out of 7 accused in the rape case of an 8 year old girl in Kathua.
