Bhubaneswar | Union Minister and senior BJP leader Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday claimed that Odisha Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik has already become a member of the ‘Majboor Sarkar’ club comprising Rahul Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee and others.
“Rahul Gandhi, Mayawati, Chandrababu Naidu and Mamata Banerjee want a ‘Majboor’ (helpless) government at the Centre.
Patnaik also wants a similar government,” Pradhan said while accompanying the BJP Bargarh Lok Sabha candidate Suresh Pujari for filing his nomination papers for the seat.
Pradhan said this referring to a Patnaik’s statement where the BJD president had claimed that no national party would be able to win the majority in Lok Sabha this time.
“The BJD will have a decisive role to play in the formation of the next government at the Centre,” Patnaik had said while formally launching his party’s poll campaign at a rally in Nayagarh on Sunday.
Stating that the country required a ‘Majboot’ (strong) and decisive government, Pradhan claimed that only Narendra Modi can give a befitting reply to Pakistan and ensure the uplift of poor people.
Alleging that Rahul Gandhi and others have been attempting to foil establishment of a strong and decisive government at the Centre, Pradhan said: “The Chief Minister has also joined the group that want a ‘Majboor’ government.”
Pradhan also ridiculed Patnaik’s claim of the Biju Janata Dal winning all the 21 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
“The people have Odisha have this time decided to establish a strong government headed by Narendra Modi.
Therefore, BJP will get maximum Lok Sabha seats in the state,” the Union Minister said.
The ruling BJD in 2014 elections had won 20 out of the 21 Lok Sabha seats in Odisha while BJP could get only one Parliamentary seat in the state.
