PM Modi claims that Congress needs to be punished for Karnataka’s betterment

With just a week left for the much awaited Karnataka Assembly elections, BJP has intensified its campaign across the poll-bound state.

On the third day of campaigning, PM Modi on Saturday said that Congress failed to transform the lives of poor in the country. According to him, Congress spoke of poverty over and over again but remains to be quiet about it ever since a poor mother’s son became the Prime Minister.

He then went on to say that Congress was neither concerned about the farmers nor the poor. Deeming Congress as a party of lies, PM Modi said, “From Indira Gandhi’s time, Congress has only fooled poor people of society to win elections. They are a party of lies, they lie time and again for votes. They do not care about farmers nor are they concerned about poor. People are now tired of Congress.”

Addressing the humongous crowd, the PM said that Congress has been neglecting farmers since the last seven decades. “Farmers’ plight today is because of Congress’ policies, we are trying to wash away their sins,” PM Modi said.

He concluded his speech by accusing Congress of politicising the increasing number of farmer suicide cases and went on to say that Congress needs to be punished for Karnataka’s better.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address three more rallies on Saturday in Gadag, Shivamogga and Mangaluru.
