New Delhi| Congress President Rahul Gandhi today again expressed concern over the situation in Kashmir. Rahul Gandhi said that reports of violence are coming in from Kashmir. These inputs raise concerns over the situation. He also demanded that PM should clarify what is happening in the valley.

On Monday, the government imposed section 144 in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir including Srinagar. The mobile internet and landline were also cut-off. Govt said that this was done as a precautionary measure to prevent any untoward incident as Govt introduced a bill to abrogate Article 370 and split J&K into two Union territories.

As of now, the Restrictions have been eased to allow people in Kashmir to offer Friday prayers in local mosques. However, security forces were put on high alert across the Valley to prevent possible protests. Reportedly, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval directed authorities to ensure that no Kashmiris were harassed. He also met J&K governor Satya Pal Malik.

However, several people claimed that they are unable to contact their families and friends in Kashmir due to internet and landline cut-off.

Rahul Gandhi had arrived at the Congress working committee meeting today. The five groups created for consultation suggested his name for the post of party president. But Rahul Gandhi refused to budge from his resignation.
