Lucknow: Hours after Congress’s Priyanka Gandhi Vadra commented on saffron clothes of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the latter hit back, stating that he wore saffron robe for “public service after sacrificing everything”. Yogi went on to say that whosoever creates obstacles in the path of a ‘seer’ would face punishment.

In a tweet, hours after the statement made by Gandhi, the CM’s Office’ through its Twitter handle @myogioffice said, “CM Yogi Adityanath has worn saffron for public service (Mukhyamantri Shri @myogiadityanath jee ne bhagwaa lok seva ke liye dhaaran kiyaa hai) after sacrificing everything else.”

“Yogi Adityanath not only wears saffron but also represents it. The saffron dress is for public welfare and nation-building and Yogi Adityanath is a traveller on that path,” the tweet said.

In another tweet Yogi said, “Whosoever creates a obstaclesto the continuous ‘yagya’ of the ‘sanyasi’ (seer) for social work and public welfare, will face punishment (Sanyasi ki lok seva aur jan kalyan ke nirantar jaari yagya mein jo bhi baadhaa utpann karega, usse dandit hona hi padhega).”

“Those who have got politics through the legacy and involvement in politics of appeasement by ignoring the India, how will they understand the meaning of social work (virasat mein raajneeti paane waale aur desh ko bhulaa kar tushtikaran ki raajneeti karne waale lokseva ka kya arth samajhenge),” it said.

Attacking UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi had said, “Adityanath wears the dress of a yogi. He wears saffron colour clothes. This saffron is not yours, it belongs to ‘dhaarmik’ (religious), ‘aadhyaatmik’ (spiritual) tradition of Hindustan.”

“It is a symbol of the Hindu religion. Uss dharma ko dhaaran kariye (adopt that religion). In that faith, there is no place for anger, violence, and revenge. This is what I have to say,” Gandhi added.
