Rahul Gandhi’s jibe: PM Modi, Nirav Modi are brothers; both looted India

The External Affairs Ministry on Saturday said that the government is taking all steps to extradite PNB scam accused Nirav Modi from the UK.

 

New Delhi| Taking a jibe at PM Modi, Congress President Rahul Gandhi said that both Nirav Modi and PM Modi are brothers. He said that both of them have looted India.

Earlier today, a video of Nirav Modi the billionaire diamantaire who defrauded the PNB Bank and is now fugitive, emerged. The video by the Telegraph showed that Nirav Modi is walking the streets of London. Though he appeared on Camera, he refused to answer any of the questions. He kept repeating “No Comments”.

Sharing the video on his Twitter handle, Rahul Gandhi said that there is “Uncanny similarities” between both Nirav Modi and PM Modi. He tweeted, “Both have looted India and are called Modi. Both refuse to answer any questions. Both believe they are above the law. Both will face justice.”

Earlier today, senior Congress leader has questioned the government over the extradition of the fugitive businessman. Taking potshots at External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and asked if she would “swoop down” and bring him back.

The External Affairs Ministry on Saturday said that the government is taking all steps to extradite PNB scam accused Nirav Modi from the UK.

MEA Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar, at a media briefing, asserted that the Indian government is aware of the fact that Nirav Modi is in the UK. He said, “We requested the UK government for extradition of Modi, means that we were aware that he is in the UK otherwise we would not have made the request”.

A British Daily on Saturday reported that Modi is currently living in an apartment in London’s West End which costs whopping 8 million pounds. The report said that he has now opened a new diamond business.
