BJP appoints Chandrakant Patil as Maharashtra, Mangal Lodha as Mumbai unit president

Mumbai | The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) today appointed Chandrakant Patil as the new president of its Maharashtra Unit.

Patil’s appointment comes after Union Minister Rao Saheb Danve today resigned from his post of BJP Maharashtra unit president.

In an issued statement, BJP announced about the appointment of Patil as the new state president along with the appointment of Mangal Prabhat Lobha as the new president of BJP’s Mumbai unit.

 

The development comes after Union Minister Raosaheb Danve resigned as the Maharashtra BJP president. Patil currently serves as a minister in the Devendra Fadnavis led Maharashtra Cabinet along with being the leader of the Maharashtra Legislative Council.

While Lodha’s appointment comes after Ashish Shelar, the former Mumbai BJP chief was appointed as minister in the Devendra Fadnavis cabinet during the last cabinet expansion. Lodha is a 5 time MLA from the Malabar Hill constituency in Mumbai.
