In the latest Saamana editorial, Shivsena said that PM Modi talks in London about rape cases happening in India but not in the country itself.
The Shivsena seems in no mood to spare the BJP from its scathing remarks. In yet another Saamana editorial criticising the Modi government, Shivsena slammed PM Modi’s London event ‘Bharat Ki Baat Sabke Saath’.
Shivsena said that India’s capital must be shifted outside the country or else New Delhi should be transformed into a film set depicting a foreign city. In a fiery editorial titled “Manmohan Modi”, the Shivsena called him a “Mauni Baba”. The editorial took a jibe at PM Modi for speaking on domestic issues only when he is out of the country. Mocking his recent address in London, Shivsena said the capital of India must be shifted to London, New York, Tokyo or Paris.
The editorial further corroborated Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s advice asking Modi to speak more. However, the piece further said, “What Manmohan Singh has said is a half-truth. Modi becomes a Mauni Baba in India, but he talks when abroad.” It said that PM Modi does not feel the need to talk in India as he feels “nauseated” about the current happenings in the country.
Criticising PM Modi’s response on Kathua and Unnao rape cases, it said that the PM speaks about the rape cases in London. “This is a part of his sensitive mind. He is emotional and there is a spark in his mind against injustice. The spark turns into flames when abroad,” said the editorial. The editorial also seeks to remind PM Modi his stand on Nirbhaya case when he says that rape cases shouldn’t be politicised.
The Saamana editorial also slammed him for painting a bad picture of the country outside India. It asked, “Why should a picture be painted of India as witnessing a rise in corruption and rape cases and as an unsafe country?”
Taking a dig at the supporters of PM Modi, Shivsena said, “Our Prime Minister goes to the country that has sheltered them and comes back empty-handed. Bhakts do not like criticism on this.” Finally, the editorial made an observation that while Manmohan Singh has started to speak, PM Modi has gone silent. “It can be considered a revenge taken by fate against BJP,” the Saamana editorial said.
