Hyderabad | Telangana power utilities on Friday claimed that they should receive Rs 2,406 crore from their Andhra Pradesh counterparts towards power supply dues.
Addressing a press conference here, TS Transco and Genco CMD D Prabhakar Rao alleged that AP utilities unilaterally took a decision to file a case in the National Company Law Tribunal, stating that Telangana owes them about Rs 5,000 crore.
“There may be a miscommunication among officials. I strongly believe that they will not make such allegations (due of Rs 5,000 crore from Telangana).
But as per our calculation, they owe us Rs 2,406 crore,” he said.
Prabhakar said Telangana power companies were willing to settle the issue amicably if Andhra Pradesh comes forward.
He further alleged that the AP power utilities had never responded to the Telangana’s requests to settle the disputes.
