Mumbai: Lodged at Barrack No. 12 in Arthur Road Jail, a 15 ft by 20 ft space, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut is usually up early in the morning. He buys his breakfast at the canteen, but the rest of his meals come from home since the court has allowed him to have homemade food and medicines, as long as the meat and fish dishes delivered are boneless, said Sunil Raut, Sanjay Raut’s brother, and his only visitor at the prison said speaking to The Print.
Sunil Raut informed ThePrint that the Shiv Sena leader is writing his memoir and that he plans to pen down every nuisance.
He is penning down his experiences of jail and is writing about the Enforcement Directorate [ED] arrest till his release,” the Shiv Sena leader said, adding that his brother will get the memoir published in the form of a book immediately after his release.
Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Bhagat Singh, Janata Party leader Jaypraksh Narayan, and Kanhiya Kumar are some of the leaders who wrote prison diaries.

“BJP president J.P. Nadda says that no regional party should remain. This is like an undeclared Emergency and Sanjay has consistently raised his voice against this,” said Sunil.
Appreciating his brother’s oratory skills Sunil said, “Not just us, but the entire Maharashtra is waiting for his release. He was one of the very few people who dared to speak against the BJP. His oratory skills are unmatched. In terms of orating, there was only one Balasaheb Thackeray, one Indira Gandhi, and now one Sanjay Raut.”
