#Watch: BJP MLA seen thrashing woman after she complained about water crisis

Ahmedabad | A BJP MLA named Balram Thawani, in a video that went viral on social media was seen thrashing a woman outside his office.

According to reports, the woman was part of a protest group, who were outside Balram Thawani’s office to complain about the water shortage issues.

Later, the BJP MLA apologized for the incident.

“I got swayed by emotions, I accept the mistake, it was not intentional. I have been in politics for the last 22 years, such a thing has never happened before. I will say sorry to her”, he told reporters.

He also later clarified that About 40 women and 20 women came to speak about the water shortage. ”

When I reached my office and tried to reason with them saying this was an AMC problem and that I would call the DyMC to sort it out on Monday, they started shouting ‘Balram hai hai’,” Thawani said. He added, “Then, one person hit me from behind following which, I came out of the office where I was pushed around. In all that, I may have accidentally hit the woman. It should not have happened”, as reported by Ahmedabad Mirror.

The police said they are looking into the matter.
