“We are Open to All Discussion”, PM Modi in Advance of Winter Session

PM Modi hopes for People-centric and development-oriented discussion in the upcoming session

 

NEW DELHI| On Monday before starting the fresh winter session Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses the Nation. While conveying Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, ‘We believe in frank discussions on all matters’.

“We want the best of best debates and hope all parties will contribute in a positive and proactive way, as they did in the previous session,” PM Modi added.

Modi said. “The Parliament will observe Constitution Day on November 26, the day when Indian Constitution completes its 70 years”.

“The last session was phenomenal due to the support of and active participation of all MPs, That is an achievement of not only the government or the treasury bench but the entire Parliament,” he added.

The winter session will start from Monday and slated to run for 26 days till December 13. It takes place amid concerns over an economic slowdown, job losses, farm crisis and the continued detention of political leaders in Jammu and Kashmir.

Among the key bills to be discussed this session is the Citizenship Amendment Bill, which the government was unable to pass in its previous tenure. This will be a landmark session the 250th sitting of the Rajya Sabha.

This winter session will provide a total of 20 sittings spread over a period of 26 days, including four Private Members’ days.

PM Modi expressed hope that people-centric and development-oriented issues would be discussed in the session.
