“When can I come?” asks Rahul Gandhi as Twitter war with J&K Governor Satya Pal Malik’s wages on

New Delhi | Congress leader Rahul Gandhi continues the Twitter spat with Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik, and accepts the invitation to visit Kashmir with “no conditions attached”.

Gandhi has called the Governor’s reply “feeble”.

Replying to Malik, Rahul Gandhi has said in a tweet, “Dear Maalik ji, I saw your feeble reply to my tweet. I accept your invitation to visit Jammu & Kashmir and meet the people, with no conditions attached. When can I come?”

Satya Pal Malik on Tuesday lashed out at Rahul Gandhi.

A statement issued by Raj Bhawan read, “Rahul Gandhi was responding to fake news possibly spread from across the border about the situation in Kashmir, which is peaceful with negligible incidents.”

He had accused Rahul Gandhi of politicising the matter.

Earlier, Satya Pal Malik had offered Rahul Gandhi an airplane to come to Kashmir Valley and observe the situation himself.

Gandhi had cited media reports claiming unrest in the Valley.

Rahul Gandhi reacted on Twitter and said he does not need an aircraft, but rather wants the freedom to meet the people of Kashmir.

India on August 5 revoked Article 370 to withdraw the special status to Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcated the state into two Union Territories — Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
