Zakir Naik accuses Modi government of “witch-hunting” after Interpol rejects India’s appeal

New Delhi | Interpol did not give a Red Corner Notice to the controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik once again, instructing all its offices to dispose of all the files and information about the religious scholar and preacher.

The Interpol has issued that it cannot give out the notice unless India has strong proof of any wrongdoing.

The decision comes as a huge setback for India who has repeatedly been trying to get a Red Corner Notice against Naik. According to Indian intelligence agencies, Zakir Naik has been trying to influence people through his hate speeches.

Followed this, Zakir Naik released his own video, in which he accuses the Modi government of “witch-hunting”.

Naik asserted that the government is wasting taxpayers money for its own political agenda.

“My case officers know the truth. They know that I have not committed a crime, any crime. They continue because they’re forced to by their political bosses. They continue to waste their time and taxpayers money over a political agenda of the ruling party when they should be going after real criminals and solving real crimes”, he said.

He also claimed that the government was trying to get Interpol to play to their political and communal game.

Zakir Naik said that Indian officers need to “develop a spine and stick to the truth”.

“I don’t say that, it’s what the Upanishads and Vedas say. If the officers, BJP ministers and even PM Modi follow the teachings of their own scriptures – the way I follow the Quran – India would become a great country that it was”, he claimed.

He also hit out at the Modi government.

“It is no secret that India has been regressing – socially and economically – since the Modi government took over. It is the worst crisis in the history of this great nation and the future generations are at risk”.

He further alleged that “some of the officers” are only following orders because they have to, that they are good human beings. “They had heard my speeches and knew there was no terrorism angle to them”, he said.

He concludes by saying that truth is on his side, and its already winning.
