Sanjay Raut supports Sharad Pawar; says ‘our people sent to jail on false allegations’

Mumbai: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Thursday endorsed the NCP chief saying that their people are being sent to jail on the basis of false allegations. After the Sharad Pawar attacked BJP-led government over the arrest of Anil Deshmukh in money laundering case.

Raut alleged the Modi Government and using Central agencies to intimidate the Opposition leaders and that they wont be scared of it.

“Our people are either sent to jail on the basis of false allegations and fake evidence or they’re tortured by Central agencies. We had been one of them but we had said that we won’t be scared. They will have to pay for it. I endorse what Pawar sahab said,” ANI quoted the Shiv Sena MP as saying.Pawar was speaking after meeting the representatives of the Nagpur Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce (NVCC), who raised concerns over the recent violence in parts of Maharashtra, and said innocent shopkeepers and traders become victims of violence and suffer losses despite no fault of theirs.

“Former Mumbai CP (Param Bir Singh), after making allegations against him (former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh) has gone absconding and not coming forward to prove them. You (BJP) put Anil Deshmukh in jail, you’ll pay the price for whatever you did to him,” Pawar had said.In his speech, Pawar, however, praised Union minister Nitin Gadkari for extending help to the state without seeing who the person is or from which party he belongs.

A special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court had on Monday remanded Deshmukh to judicial custody. The 72-year-old NCP leader was arrested by the enforcement directorate (ED) on November 2 in connection with a money-laundering case against him and later was sent to Arthur jail in south central Mumbai.

In his speech, Pawar, however, praised Union minister Nitin Gadkari for extending help to the state without seeing who the person is or from which party he belongs.
