US: Man Confesses Murdering, Beheading Drug Dealer

Earlier this week, a lady in Brooklyn, New York City, was charged with concealing a man’s corpse inside her apartment. Her spouse has now reportedly admitted that he killed the victim and cut off his head before keeping the body part in the couple’s Flatbush apartment for about two years. He is presently serving a prison sentence for identity fraud.

A “cigarette” was all that police needed to convince 45-year-old Nicholas McGee to open up, according to reports citing law enforcement officials. McGee is presently being held in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Kawsheen Gelzer, 39, was a sexual offender, and McGee allegedly told police that he killed him because there was a drug fight. Then, while drinking an alcohol bottle with his wife, Stines, he is said to have beheaded Gelzer’s body. Together with it, the couple smoked pills they had stolen from the deceased man’s pockets.

According to reports, during the one-hour police interrogation with McGee, he said while murdering Kawsheen Gelzer as he was near death, Gelzer asked him “why”. To this, Nicholas McGee replied, “Because you’re a piece of s–t. And I’m sick of you.”

Notably, Kawsheen Gelzer was found guilty in 2005 of sexually abusing a 12-year-old boy, and as a result, she was placed on the state sex offender registry.

This week, after Heather Stines informed police that her husband was accountable for the crime following a drug argument between him and Gelzer, police went to Virginia to question Nicholas McGee.

McGee claims that the alleged murder took place on March 22, 2022, which is over two hours earlier than the police initially believed and one month after Gelzer was reported missing.

Nicholas McGee claimed that even though they frequently let him sleep on their apartment couch,  he was angry with Kawsheen Gelzer for not giving the couple drugs. Additionally, he said that Gelzer treated the two disrespectfully. “I just snapped,” Nicholas McGee told police.

The previous evening, Gelzer had fallen asleep on the couple’s couch when McGee is said to have attacked the former in the back with a kitchen knife. This led to a fight in which Gelzer was struck by a hammer and repeatedly stabbed.

Despite not being involved in the murder, Nicholas McGee claimed that his wife, Heather Stines, was there at home. It took the couple several days to allow the mutilated remains to begin decomposing in their flat.

McGee claimed to have told his wife that he would cut off Gelzer. He and Stines are accused of cutting up Gelzer with a little saw, packing most of the body parts into plastic bags, and hiding them in the refrigerator. McGee added that they tried to forget about it after considering discarding the remnants but realising it was too difficult.

Even though Kawsheen Gelzer’s body wasn’t found until January 29, neighbours said that everyone “knew” the pair had engaged in a violent fight in their apartment.

Heather Stines had taped up the couple’s refrigerator and wouldn’t let guests access it. She attempted to prevent police from searching the household appliance on January 29 as well, just before the severed head and other body parts were eventually found on ice.

Heather Stines is presently having a mental examination following her January 30 charge. In the meanwhile, her husband McGee will likely be facing murder charges in the following days.
