West Bengal: BSF Arrests 4 Bangladeshi Cattle Smugglers In Malda

The Border Security Force (BSF) has arrested four Bangladeshi cattle smugglers in a successful operation held with the help of both India-Bangladesh border on Monday in West Bengal’s Malda.

The smugglers took advantage of the unfenced section of the border and ran towards the nearby village of Adampur and tried to hide in the bushes.

A BSF soldier outpost in Itaghati spotted a suspicious person trying to cross the border from Bangladesh to India in the dark. The soldiers alerted their fellow soldiers and the patrol party.

The locals in the village joined the forces as soon as they learned about the presence of smugglers, and with their help, the smuggler was arrested.

During the interrogation, the smugglers confessed that they were trying to enter India for cattle smuggling. They said they would receive Rs 40,000 for every two cattle smuggled from India to Bangladesh.
