Not A Word On Adani, PM Modi Counters Oppositions Question With NDA’s Achievements

While PM Modi was counting on the government’s achievements shouts of “Modi-Modi” echoed from the BJP leaders.

After Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and TMC MP Mahua Moitra’s fiery speeches on the Adani row, all eyes were on Prime Minister Modi’s address in the Lok Sabha. Expectations were PM Modi would counter all the chatter head-to-head.

However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi who addressed the lower house today for more than an hour did not speak a single word on the ongoing Adani-Hindenburg controversy and the charges the opposition leveled on the government of favoring and protecting the conglomerate.

Rather Prime Minister Modi was seen patting his government’s back, listing out the works done under his regime and attacking the opposition to the scams under the UPA regime. PM Modi also took several veiled attacks on Congress MP Rahul Gandhi.

Starting from the “Sattar Sall” jibe to eliminating terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir PM covered it all.

While PM Modi was counting on the government’s achievements shouts of “Modi-Modi” echoed from the BJP leaders.

However, the opposition countered it with “Adani-Adani” and “JPC” shoutings.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi had posed several questions to the PM” 1) “How many times has he traveled together on a foreign trip with Adani”?

2)”How many times did Adani ji join you later on a visit”?

3) ” How much money Adani has given to the BJP in the last 20 years, including through electoral bonds?”

None of the questions were neither directly or indirectly addressed.

Mr. Gandhi taking a jibe at the PM had yesterday said: ” There should be a case study by business schools such as Harvard on the relationship between business and politics, India is a case study…the PM should get a gold medal in this.”

To which the PM today responded: Ā “An important study has been done at the Ivy League research university on the subject ā€“ ‘Rise and fall of India’s Congress Party.”

The PM said India ranks 3rd in the most number of startups in the world and 2nd in mobile manufacturing.

After listing out some of the achievements the PM started cornering the UPA. PM Modi saidĀ  2004-2014 was a disaster for India.

Amid his long address, several leaders of Congress walked out of the house. PM Modi also said that criticism is the purification of democracy however for 9 years there are only allegations and no criticism.

Speaking on the Enforcement Directorate’s investigation which is often alleged as a one-sided approach by the opposition, the PM said “ED bought together the opposition.”

Reminding of the 2G and 2010 Commonwealth Games Scam PM Modi lashed out at the opposition .

“In 2010 CWG games were held, it was a big opportunity to show the strength of India’s youth to the world but due to a scam, India became infamous in the world. The decade before 2014 will be known as the lost decade & we can’t deny that the 2030s decade is India’s decade”, PM Modi said.

While concluding his address PM Modi said: “Headlines did not build the trust in Modi its the hard work and devotion towards the nation which build the trust, so those abusing should introspect.”

The highlight of PM Modi’s speech was it clearly seemed like an ‘aggressive Modi election speech’, which he is most known for(Aggrasssion garnished with potshots and nationalism being the prime ingredient). PM Modi’s speech seemed like the conch-blowing of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Meanwhile, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi soon after the PM’s address interacted with the media and said: “I’m not satisfied with (PM’s speech). No talk about inquiry happened. If he (Gautam Adani) is not a friend then he (PM) should have said that inquiry should be conducted. It’s clear that the PM is protecting him (Gautam Adani).”
