Headlines: “Lack of suitable environment for research in India”- Pranab Mukherjee

Former President of India Pranab Mukherjee has said that if the country has not received any Nobel for basic research in the last 70 years, it is not because of lack of talent in the students but lack of conducive environment. In the Indian Management Conclave in Delhi, mukherjee said there is a lack of environment for students where emphasis is given on basic research. Mukherjee said that the country’s premier institutions IITs needed to do more than place their students in MNCs where they would “sell detergents”, and also needed to encourage students to go into research and education. #PranabMukherjee #LoC #Nobel
