Headlines: New Army chief Manoj Naravane takes charge, says ‘Focus on Human Rights’


As we begin the new year 2020, new Chief of Army Staff Gen. Manoj Mukund Naravane paid tributes at National War memorial and inspected a guard of honour. Later while speaking to media he said the Army’s priority will be to be operationally prepared at all times and has pledged special attention to respecting human rights. As Army chief, Gen. Manoj Mukund Naravane’s priorities are expected to be to implement long-pending reforms, contain cross-border terrorism in Kashmir and bolster the force’s operational capabilities along the northern border, where China has been ramping up military infrastructure in Tibet.
