Mumbai University Law Students on 18 September protested against the recent implementation of the 60-40 examination pattern outside the Ambedkar Bhavan within the University Campus. The students were unhappy with the new exam pattern and alleged that exams give a better chance to prove their ability compared to the internal exams. The Internal assessment is a part of a new choice-based credit system curricular for law courses approved by the MU’s academic council in June.
Members of the Student Law Council, CYSS, Chatrabharti, Swabhiman Vidyarthi Sanghatna, Samta Vidhyarthi Aghadi and Ambedkar Students Association. participated in the protest.
After a long protest, the Student representatives met the Pro Vice-Chancellor. The VC assured that the University will release a circular barring all law colleges from taking or accepting any written submissions and assignments regarding the internal assessment in the 60/40 pattern unless they resolve the ongoing issue of the said new pattern.
