The Income Tax department has raided BBC India offices. According to reports, the Tax department is conducting a survey at BBC India’s offices. The tax raid is going on at BBC India’s Delhi and Mumbai office. The phones of the staff have been seized and they have been asked to go home. The Income Tax officials arrived at the Delhi office at around 11.30 AM. The Income tax dept says that it is a survey to verify some information that they have. Reportedly, BBC’s London office has also been informed about the action. The raids come at a time when a documentary by BBC on PM Modi has created controversy in the country. The documentary named India-The Modi Question was released by the BBC few days back.
